About Azzurro

Welcome to the Azzurro website. Azzurro is situated in the fashionable West Didsbury area of South Manchester.

Home to fine Italian cuisine, our menu reflects the changing seasons. In the winter we offer rare treats such as our infamous wild boar stew along with seasonal game dishes. In the spring ~ asparagus, tender lamb and the more delicate herbs will no doubt crop up on the menu in some form. Along with our fresh pasta dishes and risotto, our menu always encompasses a refreshingly large vegetarian choice.

Azzurro really excels in our choice of market fresh fish and seafood. You won’t find fish on the menu here! It’s offered only on our specials board. This means that we are able to cook with the freshest produce available.

At this point, I’d like to introduce myself as I am about to share my daily routine with you!

My name is Emil and I am the proud owner of Azzurro ristorante. Every day on my way to work, I call in to “Out of the Blue” fishmongers on Wilbraham road in Chorlton. They specialise in line caught and sustainable fish and shellfish. I can’t recommend them enough. The vast array of choice is exciting! I can’t find fresher produce elsewhere.

Once at work, I write the specials board for that evening, but be warned… Sorry if things get sold out but I refuse to buy in bulk!

Of course, our food is only 50% of the story. At Azzurro you receive a friendly and attentive service. Enjoying not only exquisite food from our new autumn menu, but also the buzzing atmosphere.

Azzurro demonstrates that there is more to Italian food than lasagne. Being at Azzurro for us is not like being at work. We love our job, we are passionate about our restaurant and this is something we want to share with the people of Manchester.
