About Azzurro

Welcome to the Azzurro website. Azzurro is situated in the fashionable West Didsbury area of South Manchester. Home to fine authentic Italian cooking, our varied menu pays homage to our Tuscan heritage.

I’d like to introduce myself, as you will probably be served by me on your visit to Azzurro! My name is Emil – I am the proud owner! We like to think that seafood is our speciality… Here is how it works…

- On my way to work, I visit ‘Out of the blue’ fishmongers on Wilbraham Rd in Chorlton, to buy the seafood and fish for that evening. I can’t recommend this place enough – the staff really know their stuff!

- I get to work, have a chat to the chef and then write the specials board for that evening. Sorry if things get sold out that night but I refuse to buy in bulk!

Our Menu reflects the changing seasons and always encompasses a refreshingly large vegetarian choice. In the winter we offer rare treats such as our infamous wild boar stew. In spring, you may find pulcino (whole baby spring chicken) on the menu and those delicious baby green spring vegetables. Along with our fresh pasta dishes and risotto.

Of course, our food is only 50% of the story…At Azzurro you will dine in a warm and friendly environment. Enjoying not only exquisite food from our new Spring menu, but also the buzzing atmosphere & attentive service.

Azzurro demonstrates that there is more to Italian food than lasagne. Being at Azzurro for us is not like being at work. We love our job, we are passionate about our restaurant and this is something we want to share with the people of Manchester.
